bring the dead to life

I got to give it to the Germans, they really appreciate and value their heritage. A small town like Meissen, is also being well kept. This is what Penang should learn, restore the old buildings(bit by bit) and bring back it's shine like what it once was.

putting display showing the building before it was restore
and the year of the photo. Nice touch

before
after

some they even maintain the old name of the shop

i like this^^

love their color combination,
unlike the ugly orange building in Penang(if u know which i mean)

Colorful Republic of Neustadt

Last weekend the annual Bunte Republik Neustadt(colorful republic of Neustadt(the area where i lived)) was being held and all the street were closed off in this area. The 3 days musical event was fun and interesting, people from all walks of life came and enjoy the food, drinks, DJs playing music and live bands.

I was told that this event was founded in 1990(the year after the fall of Berlin wall) before it joined the West German Bundesrepublik Deutschland(BRD). Originally the BRD was meant as a kind of a free state, in this time of change.

Don't be a fat B!t(h

A non-working life, everyone wish for that but when you really have it "what are you going to do with all that free time?"
3 months is Dresden, the question that i frequently being asked is "What do you do everyday?, since you are not working" hm.... good question. I keep myself occupied you know, chores, cooking,....bla bla bla. The most important is to have hobbies and don't be lazy or else this will happen...

...becoming one fat B!t(h

I used to wished this too(not becoming fat B!t(h la) but now that it came true, i got to say it's both heaven and a pain in the ass. Can't we just have it all? both, time to have fun and get paid every end of the month? that would be a real heaven. Well nothing is perfect, I've come to learn to love what i have and not complaint what i don't(well not completely 100%) :P

You'll see it's fruit in the end..... :)

my little strawberry is now looking pretty yummy to me :P

My 1st time - @_@

My 1st opera experience is, well FREE and it's outdoor. if you don't like it just roll up your mat and leave or have a sausage and beer, no one cares about the noise(that is the advantage of outdoor opera). It was a free performance by the foundation for the advancement of Semperoper(the opera house) in Dresden.

ourside the opera house Semperoper

some bring their own chair, mat or just buy a cardboard chair. It was a live broadcast performance inside the Semperope itself and at the end of the performance the actors and actresses even walk out to thank all the audiences..(great atmosphere)

cool cardboard chair.. 3 Euro :S... i think they are raising fund for the opera house
or maybe just to get more people to watch opera(i think la)

The Semperoper is the opera house of the Saxon State Opera Dresden and the concert hall. It was 1st built in 1841, by architect Gottfried Semper(that is how the name Semper come la).

This building had experience few tragic history, it was being destroyed 3 times. The 1st was a fire destroyed it in 1869, 2nd time happened during the last week of World War II in 1945 and the latest one was in 2002, flood of the Elbe river the building suffered heavy water damage.

our's was the more unique....we sit on a CARPET(lol) which my neighbor just bought..

..and no one cares, plus it's quite nice to sit on a carpet outdoor ^^

Many argue, as it has features that appear in the Early Renaissance style, Baraque and even features Corinthian style pillars typical of classical Greece (classical revival ). Perhaps the most suitable label for this style would be Eclecticism; where influences from many style are used-a practice most common during this period.

the opera starts at 6pm - 10pm

10:30pm still not dark..hehe

at the end of the day although the opera was in French with German subtitle(we don't have a clue what they are talking about) but overall the it was a good show (we guess the story by their body language) hehe.
