2 days 1 night in Hadyai, Thailand

Sa wat dee krap!! Last year's summer i got to travel to the southern part of Thailand (Hadyai) which is not really far from Penang, where i'm from, together with my friends and my favorite uncle. Though it was a short trip of 2 days and 1 night but it's more then enough. What can 1 do there u might ask? well mostly eat, shop, massage, more eating and hell a lot more of shopping. :D. That is what alot of Malaysian do when they head up to Hadyai

Driving from Butterworth to the border of Thailand took us about 2 hours. On the way, there are also kind of like a food court where u can fill in the "white card" and also money changer. Tip: the rate are normally way better at this food courts which is near to the boarder.

here is where we parked our car (Duty Free complex) before crossing the boarder between Malaysia and Thailand

overnight parking cost about RM15/night. It's safe because at night there will be security and the area is securely gated

bye!! Malaysia, Hello!! Thailand

checkpoint

from the checkpoint we walking about 500m straight down the road to the 7-11 convenient store

here is where we took a van to Hadyai city center. 1 Person cost about 57baht, the van was quite comfortable. From the boarder to Hadyai is about 1 1/2 hours away by van

the van drop us @ Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel

our hotel Yong Dee Hotel, which is about few blocks away from Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel. If i'm not mistaken i remember the single bed room cost about 600baht, good for 2 person because the bed is quite spacious. for double beds room cost about 800baht. Fit up to 4 person if u r not really that big size

it's not really the luxury type kind of hotel, well what do u expect from a 20 US$ room/ night?

Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral), Milan, Italy

First of all Happy New Year. I'm sure it will yet be another exciting year for everyone including myself. A big change will happen! i do hope it will be for the good, i will keep and open mind. Nonetheless thank god the world didn't end! I can go on writing my blog. Continue with my entry about Milan, Italy.

This very very old cathedral, was 500 years old before it was even completed. I was in awe when i saw this beautiful cathedral from a far and it doesn't even look old. Opening hours from 7am - 6:45pm

Duomo di Milano is the 5th largest cathedral in the world

from this side view, one can see how huge this cathedral is. It took us almost 2 hours to admire the interior. Yes! it is that beautiful. Trust me, I've seen my fair share of churches and cathedrals in Europe

front facade of the cathedral, it's marble

going in! It's Free but proper dress code are required. So no short pants/ skirts and no sleeveless

us @ Duomo di Milano

.....

:o

even the floor is beautiful

me and the freaking huge organs

largest organ in all Italy

i like this one

looks really grand

this statue on the right, is the most famous statue of all in the Cathedral, the San Bartolomeo Flayed (1562), by MArco d'Agrate, the saint shows the leather thrown over his shoulders like a stole

to see some treasure but need to pay a small fee, about 2 Euro

the cathedral's ceiling design

panorama view of the back altar

the altar

see the red light bulb? in the dome above the apse marks the spot where one of the nails reputedly from the Crucifixion of Christ has been placed. Every year during a celebration known as the Rite of the Nivola, the Holy Nail is showed to the public

beautiful paintings

few of the stain glasses in the cathedral that i like

after that we even visited the roof of the cathedral. Entrance is outside left corner of the cathedral. 7Euro by stairs and  12 Euro by lift. We took the stairs of course. It's ok compare to the stairs @ St Peter's Basilica @ the Vatican.

we were so lucky because the weather was so blue and nice

thought it's a bit pricey to go up the roof top but it's worth it.. I suppose to maintain this huge cathedral ain't cheap too

gone loco ^^

the details are like crazy detail

me @ the roof of Duomo di Milano

i saw alot of different years marked on the marble wall

what an odd looking boobies :S
