Paris the city of romance.....Maybe not for the new year. Paris is a wonderful place, the museums, Versailles, the Eiffel tower, shopping heaven, French bread, etc.... but the metro, OMG on NEW YEAR...OMG! it was so packed that people fainted, people fighting, people screaming, drunk people, vomits :S and you need to wait very long cause alot of people try to squeeze in the Metro, then the Metro got too packed, cannot move....yadi yadi yadi.... can't they just wait like civilized people? but the good news is that on new years eve from 5pm - new year 12am the Metro, the RER and buses are FREE.

1st day we went walking around the street relaxing, eating Baguettes and try not to go shopping just yet.... 1st day didn't wan to be broke so soon.. ><
Notre Dame Cathedral(means Our Lady in French) wie wie! one of the earliest Gothic church in France built in 1163-1345

Everyday there is a long queue to go in the cathedral but it's quite fast so no worries and it's free

there is a small museum in the cathedral which cost about 3euro/pax... we though it's they way up to see the Drolery, it's state it;s a bunch of stuff which I've already forgotten. I suggest that you save your 3 Euro for a Baguette is better :P

we bought ourself macaroons, taste... actually good! crispy on the outside chewy in the inside, with different flavors... i like coffee. McDonald also have macaroons and it's way cheaper but we didn't managed to try it

the famous Le Consulat @ Montmartre, with restaurants, shops, homes, nightclubs and a good place for nightlife entertainment district of Paris. This famous Le Consulat restaurant even appread in FedEx ad...how cool is that.
just near by is the The Basilica of the Sacred heart, dedicated to the sacred heart of Jesus, it's located at the highest point of Montmartre.

Although it's located in Versailles, a suburb of Paris a little bit far away from the city center(you need to take the metro then the RER, took about an hour to reach ><) but it's worth the trip.

we bought the ticket only for the Palace, coasted about 15 euro if i'm not mistaken. Head piece are included. You can also buy the tickets opposite the train station...don't worry there will be people standing there to ask you
the palace's garden. Too bad the weather was not so good. I think it would be more beautiful in summer or spring ( to know more about Versailles stay tune to me next entry >< )
next to the Louvre. Tip: never go to the Louvre late.... you will be queuing like hell for hours. So get your lazy bump up early. Again with my student card it's FREE.... I LOVE PARIS ^^

Museum d'Orsay. It holds mainly French art dating from 1848 - 1915. If you are a fan of Monet, Manet, Cezanne, Sisley or Van Gogh. This is the place to go. There are paintings, sculptures, photography and even furniture to see. Too bad it's not allow to take photos....

La Tour Eiffel was built in 1889, it's the tallest building in Paris ans also the most-visited paid monument in the world. The designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel. The tower was built as the entrance arxh to the 1889 World's Fair.

The tower has 3 levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs(over 300 steps) or lift, to the 1st-2nd level. The 3rd and highest level is accessible only by elevator
It was very foggy so we decided not to go up the Eiffel tower plus the queue was crazy.....maybe next time

since the night was still young, we decided to go Pantheon
King Louis XV vowed in 1744 that if he recoveres from an illness he would replace the ruined church with an edifice worthy of the patron saint of Paris. He did recover and entrusted someone to fulfill his vow. voula!

it was so crowded alot people was dancing and singing but there was also alot of police and Alcohol was not allowed.
So no need waste money to buy expensive wine....the police will asked you to throw it away

to our surprise, at 12am sharp there was NO fireworks, NO one did the count down, :S
you know what happen? The Eiffel Tower just sparkle for 5 minutes and some bangla play with small firecracker... We were like WTF!!! that's it?
We cancel our hostel room for that night, waited hours in the cold winter night, travel far for toilet, and they give us THIS? Never in my life ever to celebrate New Year in Paris...i think the fire works in my house taman are better then bangla's firecracker
the worst was we both got sick but luckily it was our last day in Paris. Thank god!

overall it was a nice trip except for the last day, maybe we have so high expectation that it was going to be spectacular but nevertheless we will visit Paris again in future! ><
