Shanghai, China

Looking back my old computer files.....i found my old Shanghai trip (2007), damn we look young.
We spend about 2 weeks in Shanghai and visited few interesting places nearby(Suzhou, Hangzhou and Huangshan), It was indeed an unforgettable trip. I'll try my best to remember the small details, as much as i can...The picture were taken way before i have my DSLR..... so bear with me, digital camera only hehehe :) nevertheless hope you guys like it!

Thanks to our Shanghai friend Bing Bing for being our tour guide and also his family for the warm hospitality :)

from a small town we took their local bus to travel to the Shanghai city!... because we bought the ticket last minute.....only "seats" on the aisle are available.... it was a looong 1 hour ride :S

Shanghai ><

China Adidas, Wandanu....hehehe

Bing Bing and me

the famous Peace hotel (south), when built 1908, the six story hotel was the tallest building on Nanjing Road, with Renaissance style exterior and also featured 2 elevators, which was the 1st building to do so in Shanghai

after a long bus ride, our 1st meal.....hehehe dumplings and also beef soup noodle :P....mmmhhhmmm yummy!

Nanjing Road....much to see and shop!! hehe from special herbals to pig face skin?? hehehe not sure what they are for

Shanghai modern opera house... i think or?

luckily the weather was good.....it was middle of September, not too cold and not too hot....just nice

a historical bridge, which i can't remember what it's about :P

modern restaurant along the Huangpu river, the largest river in Shanghai. Shanghai gets most of it's drinking water here

love their dessert.....nice for hot weather :D

next to Yu Yuan road, old town gods temple

a restaurant, Nanxing Mantou Dian, famous for their Xiaolongbao (dumpling), if you are in Shanghai, this is a MUST visit place :)
just find the restaurant with the most queue....everyday it's pack with tourist and also local people.....i love Xiaolongbao!!!

Yu garden

next to another nearby restaurant and tried another different kind of dumpling which u need a straw to drink the soup inside....also a local delicacy that you can't miss

after a satisfying meal, head to a nearby gods temple

i think entrance is fee
from town we took a cab to this old town gods temple, not expensive if you divide to 3 person :)
some times it's kind of hard to find a taxi especially the rush hour... and don't get me started with the bus, you need to squeeze in like in a sardine can... but it's interesting if you want to experience the local lifestyle

next to Shanghai Museum of ancient Chinese art, this 5 story high building is enough for you to spend half of your day...it's located @ People's Square in the Huangpu District

i think admission is free, stay tune for future post on Shanghai Museum

jalan jalan around town

enjoying my Dairy Queen ice cream

It was Moon cake festival, so bought this super delicious mini moon cake.... another MUST try

also one of my favorite meal in Shanghai was this numb and hot steamboat (ma la huo guo) with thin slices of beef and lamb .... super duper yummy! normally the soup they don't think just drip for 10 second and eat it ^^
