about half hour drive from Albany
Boon @ Thatcher Park
viewing area
the view is simply spectacular. This place reminds me of Saxon Switzerland National Park in east Germany
it's a perfect place for family outing. There are picnic area, camping, playground and BBQ facilities available
one can also do some hiking, suitable for all ages.
The history of the park dated back ca. 400 years, when the trail now known as the Indian Ladder Trail was used by the Mohawk Iroquois Indians to reach the trading post run by Henry Hudson
taking the Indian Ladder trail
the trail is open from May 1 to Nov 15, 8am - sunset
easy walking path
there is supposed to be water falls (Minelot Falls) but in autumn time it's all dried up
view from the base of the cliff

end of the trail. the trail takes about 30 - 45 minutes it's very easy and enjoyable
