our 2nd and last day in Bryce Canyon National Park! Start our morning with a quick breakfast at Ruby's Inn General Store's bun with hot sausage. Our itinerary for the day is hike Fairyland loop trail and drive down south to all the interest points in Bryce Canyon.
very cold morning but it temperature changes really fast here from 0 degree Celsius in the morning it can rise to 18 degree Celsius in noon.
After a long debate we decided not to do the whole 8miles Fairyland Loop trail but just 3mile(round trip) of the trail to see the Tower Bridge
there aren't much shade in this trail, well most of the trails doesn't have much shade
the contrast between the hoodoos and the clear blue sky was amazingly beautiful
i feel so small
i do enjoy this trail...it;s easy but it got really warm half way
even winter time bring lots of water and keep hydrate
note to self: time to get a hat
360 degree of breathtaking view
we took our sweet time and finally about an hour or more we reached Tower Bridge
it looks more like Malaysia's Petronas Twin Tower though(in my opinion)
after we finish our 3 miles hike our breakfast was long digested. We tried the lodge restaurant for lunch but it was closed for the winter so we went to the General Store near the Fairyland trail head.
Had Pizza and a hot soup....not good at all the food but it was the only option...but they do have cup noodles (i only saw them after i finished my lunch) arrrr!
after lunch we drove south towards Rainbow Point(the end point of Bryce Canyon) and we stopped by Natural Bridge and few other point of interest
selfie time
Natural Bridge is misnamed , this "bridge" is technically an arch. Natural bridges are carved by rushing streams, whereas subtler forms of weather have sculpted this opening
Rainbow Point. Elevation 9115ft
there are also a few trails and we did the shortest trail which is the Bristlecone Loop trail
Yovimpa Point
it's really worth the time to do this short trail
enjoying the warmth of the sun
i'm not sure this is....could be Black Birch Canyon. Elevation 8750ft
Ponderosa Canyon. Elevation 8904ft
Inspiration Point. Elevation 8100ft
to Bryce Point
amazing view
Bryce Point....our spot for sunset
it pays to be early
we got an unobstructed view of the canyon
Bryce Canyon NP, i definitely recommend this place, It's different and of course beautiful canyons and awesome trails. Though it was a brilliant idea to come here during Thanksgiving week, my only complain is there is no good food....hehe
We were told that Bryce Canyon is one of Earth's darkest places because of it's high elevation, clean dry air and lack of light pollution, makes it the best place to stargazing. On Moonless night the Milky Way looks like a huge silvery rainbow from horizon to horizon. Too bad we were too tired and busy searching for food we didn't went stargazing....maybe next time when we can camp and stargazing :)
the next day (Day 6)we drove back to Las Vegas and had buffet for the first time in Vegas!
we were too hungry to even take any photo XD
Day 7 - Death Valley
~ to be continue ~
