10 day in Mexico - Day 5 Mexico City

Day 5

we are flying to Cancun today, flight at 4:45pm so still have half day to hangout in Mexico City

heavy breakfast this morning, buffet style at our hotel before heading out, one last stroll before we checked out and head to airport

on our way walking to Juarez to check out the Angel of Independence we came across a police station. We thought of making official report for our stolen smartphone but the police directed us to go to this Ministry of Tourism just 1 block away to make the report. So we went there and make our official report. The officer there don't speak English but they use Google translate to communicate with us.
tip: if anything unfortunate happen while vacationing in Mexico, tourist can visit this Ministry of tourism office (can be found in many places) to make an official report (for insurance purpose)

after spending almost 1.5 hours at the Ministry of tourism. Feeling much better.

The Angel of Independence @ Juarez built in 1910 to commemorate the centennial of the beginning of Mexico's war of independence

it is said that visitor is allowed to enter the monument, view the memorial plaques at the base level, and climb to the top of the tower.  Entrance is FREE. However only Weekends and from 10am-1pm. To go up one must get a permit at the Cuauhtemoc borough(not sure where specifically) where you must show ID

the nicer part of Mexico City, Juarez

after walking around Juarez we headed back to our hotel, checked out and took Uber to the airport. Cost $97pesos for 2 person ($4.70USD) by 1pm we were already at the Airport hangout and waiting for our flight to Cancun.

Flight from Mexico City to Cancun was about 2 hours and 15 minutes, by the time we reach Cancun Airport it was 8:20pm local time(+1 hour from Cancun)

First thing we did after arriving the airport is, walked straight out to the arrival terminal to the ADO kiosk(First class bus company) and bought our bus ticket to Playa del Carmen for 8:50pm (there are 3-5 ADO kiosk that sells the same ticket and usually the ones inside has long queue, best to look for the kiosk located just right outside the arrival terminal

my ticket cost $198pesos/ pax one way ($9.70USD)

the journey from Cancun Airport to Playa del Carmen is about 1 hour and the bus was really new and confortable, we even watch a movie in the bus too. The ADO bus stop in Playa del Carmen, located right at the shopping district. We reached there about 10pm it was still crowded with tourist and vendors, bar and restaurant still open.

Knowing we were arriving late we booked a hotel just 5 minutes walked away. Easy, safe and near, as we are only staying for the night and taking the bus again to Tulum the next morning

whole day of traveling so tiring
next day another ambitious itinerary ;)

~ hasta mañana ~
