Meissen - The town

Another weekend hunting for castle and cathedral, and this time we arrived at Meissen. Meissen is a small town which is about 1/2 hour away from Dresden town(by train la). It's famous for manufacture of porcelain(Meissen Porcelain), the 1st high quality porcelain to be produced outside of China.

So this week we finally got to explore this famous place.

where to go?? aha...Markt(market place where the tourist information center is located)

dono what story la they write here

the town, the Albrectsburg castle and also Gothic Meissen Cathedral

the castle is the 1st to be used as a royal residence in the German-speaking world. It is build between 1472 - 1525, is a incredible example of late Gothic style castle. As for the cathedral it was build in the 13th century(Gothic Meissen cathedral)

it took us only 5 hours to complete the tour around Meissen(well exclude the Meissen porcelain manufacture, because need entrance fee.. :P, plus we got to see alot of Meissen porcelain from the shops at market place). If castle, cathedral and porcelain is your thing then Meissen is a fantastic place to visit.

Street aRT - Part 1

My 1st impression toward Dresden was "Damn! why is every building being vandalized with graffiti eh?". Later on i started to see other really nice design which they(who ever they are) did on buildings, posters, cars & ..etc. They even have similar icons which they spray almost every where...hmm... do they have any meaning? or is it some secret society logo?

So here are some creative street art I've come acrossed

i saw 3 of this, sort if an alien "worm?" liao but all are in different places

posters design

cute posters....i wonder what it's about? hmmm...

creative typo design

cool vintage car....hahaha

junk or a piece of art?

i think they got a few series of this cute looking cloud in different places too

rubbish dump also draw so nice ^^

most of the building owner paint(design) their own to avoid being victim to hideous graffiti.
what a great idea @_@

thank god who ever did the graffiti(hideous ones) still know how to appreciate nice art
if not this nice mural would be destroyed by them

Anyone need a mural painting job done? feel free to give me a call ><
