Colorful Republic of Neustadt

Last weekend the annual Bunte Republik Neustadt(colorful republic of Neustadt(the area where i lived)) was being held and all the street were closed off in this area. The 3 days musical event was fun and interesting, people from all walks of life came and enjoy the food, drinks, DJs playing music and live bands.

I was told that this event was founded in 1990(the year after the fall of Berlin wall) before it joined the West German Bundesrepublik Deutschland(BRD). Originally the BRD was meant as a kind of a free state, in this time of change.

I really like this event. But, some said there are also violence associated to this event, especially people got drunken at mid night,
burning and damaging public utilities etc.
So, this year there are a lot of police patrols.
Come visit dresden by June to enjoy the atmosphere...
