The least popular - Baroque Garden

Found this place all by myself, Gross-Sedlitz Baroque Garden among the most notable garden in Germany. It is also of significance because a prominent Saxon ruler left his imprint on how it looks.

Having constructed his residence for retirement here in 1719, the imperial Count von Wackerbarth sold it - not entirely of his own volition(kesian) to Augustus the Strong. This new owner then had the gardens rebuilt, with plans drawn by his own hand. In the end this garden was never completed(pokai liao - shortage of funds) he constructed to pay tribute to Poland's Order of the most impressive artistic landscapes of the late Baraque.

Augustus the Strong

Nevertheless, the 12 hectares which were finished are so full of splendour that it is harly possible to imagine how the garden might have been had all the planned 96 hectares been completed(WAH!sai)

took the train(s-bahn) to Gross-Sedlitz

about 20 minutes walk to our destination from the train staion
(we were scared because there was no one on the way -
we even imagine about the movie SAW) wakakaka

we were relieved to see HUMAN after 15 minutes walk in the woods

and the place look so beautiful - GREEN everywhere

so relax, feeling the warm breeze

Yippy, the main entrance

2 Euro(if u have student card :P) & 4 Euro for adult

The spacious terraced grounds are today a work of artistic garden architecture with two Orangeries(a place where they have exhibition displayed), fountains and around 60 sculptures, still arranges in classic Baroque style.

Gross-Sedlitz is really a hidden gem because not many people visit this garden(i think it must be the entrance fee) but i do hope some day the original plan for the whole 96 hectares would complete. :)
