Finally after almost 5 month being married i got to go for my honeymoon(well sort of ><), it's not the typical honeymoon trip(relaxing & romantic), it was a hectic one but i love it. We started from Berlin - Roma - Vatican - Venice - Berlin(from here we took a bus express back to Dresden) all together 10 days
I have about 2k photos need editing(god bless :S), so might take some time for all the photos to be out :P, so i think I'll start with Vatican(Citta Del Vaticano) because it has the least photos....hehe.
The hostel that we stayed in Roma is kind of far away from the Vatican, well compare to other places of interest. We took the Metro from Termini - Ottaviano station(about 15 - 20 minutes) then walk for another 5-10 minutes Viola The Vatican City!! i was like "OMG we are finally here, Yippy!!"
1st stop Vatican Museum(we try their night at the museum, it's summer special),
the queue was damn long(appx. 500 people)
but if u don't mind paying 4 Euro more(original price - 19Euro/pax & 12 Euro/pax for student) , u can actually booked the ticket online. We didn't so have to queue earlier...hehe but it was worth it. The whole tour took about 2 hours and it was jaw dropping. KENG ar!!
*will have a post on Vatican Museum soon(good stuff)
Sam pat #1 - start to act sam pat liao
Sam pat #2 - not yet sam pat :P

i was really luckily that this particular guard willing to take photo with me (tips: Do NOT take photo with the guard at the St Peter's church exit, will kena screw for sure)
don't know what line this is(maybe it's just a pattern, i'm not sure)
the great St Peter's Square designed by Bernini
Statue of St. Peter
Basilica San Pietro( St Peter's church)
here is where the Pope would come out and give his blessings

tips: Do NOT wear sexy clothes, make sure your knee and shoulder are covered. It's FREE and it closed at 7pm(might closed earlier in the winter) visit http://www.vatican.va/ for more info
see the manhole(top pic)? underneath it is the basement where the tomb of all the Popes is being placed (give me a PM is u want to to view it, accidentally snap few of the Popes' tomb :P) ~ swear i didn't know it was not allowed.
This is a Baptismal Font( fixture used for the baptism of children and adults).
It is designed by Carlo Fontana in 1697.
Here are some photos of the interior of St. Peter's church (sneak preview)
will another entry soon on this
Bernini's "Cathedra Petri and "Gloria". i Love his work especially "Apollo and Daphne"
the interior was just amazing.
the sculpture, paintings to the structure, it was KENG ar!!
that is the cupola (dome), if you wish to go up there you need to pay 7 euro/pax (using a lift) or 5 euro/pax (if u can climb up the stairs, but only before 5:30pm). My advice is, take the lift because after the lift u still need to climb the stairs for about 10 minutes to reach the very top
This is at the dome .Love the Italian's mosaic mural, beautiful
The dome was brought to completion by Giacomo della Porta and Fontana.
notice anything off? i actually have to jump up to take
this photo with the cupola...lol apparently i'm too short :S
the steps to the top begins
and it gets narrower when u almost reach the top
tips: walk slowly if u have heart attack(it's quite tiring) ><
worth the 7 Euro

I love the overall view from the dome (the last photo here).
dear mate, the point about the soltisce: the shadow line of the abolisk is in that point on solstice: you must not a genius to understand that ...
PS: the Pope do not bless people usually from the balcony of the basilica but from the window of his palace; the balcony is used once after the papal election (the last one in 2005). by the way, grets from rome (from my home i can see the dome).
hey Ecrinfli...thanks for the infos...appreciate it! ;) I LOVE ROME
