Roma - Around and about

It's convenient to travel around Rome because if you are lost, there is always the tourist information(they are very informative) from info about entrance fee - hotel reservation, even a list of ways to reach the airport and most importantly they speaks very good English ><

long queue at the tourist information

wanted to find the entrance of Palatino Hill but end up here(not sure what this is) :P

survive 5 days in Rome with only junk food. Pizza,
sandwiches and lots of milk shake...yummy!!

Villa Borghese, we didn't plan to go because of our tight schedule but last minute we decided to go anyway. Luckily we did, it was freaking AWESOME!! alot of Benini's famous sculpture there. Too bad they don't allow photographs but come to think of it i got to see things more in detail because most of the time i'm busy snapping every inches of everything... XD

Santa Maria degli Angeli. Michelangelo was the architect along with Luigi Vanvitelli. It was also a personal monument of Pope Pius IV

the interior

the picture on the right is the Pendulum

the meridian line within Santa Maria, it was completed in 1702, to produce a tool to exactly predict Easter

San Gregorio Magno, well we didn't really went inside so can't talk much about it :P

along the way to Santi Giovanni e Paolo from San Gregorio Magno we saw olive trees. We were told that olive can't be eaten without being process, they need to be curing for at least a year (though can bring home some) ><

Santi Giovanni s Paolo. Here we met a kind women from Budapest, she recommended us few interesting places to visit. So nice of her :)

Jalan-jalan along the street of Rome

just opposite Piazza del Popolo we came across a shopping heaven.... too bad we didn't bring enough cash...haih

Piazza di Spagna, many people like to sit on the steps and just enjoy the atmosphere, we sat because we were freaking tired :P

the spanish steps, it is the longest and widest staircase in Europe

this is also one of Benini's work "Fontana della Barcaccia". The design, as small boat was inspired bu the flooding of the Tevere in 1598, when a small boat stranded here after the water subsided.

manyak orang lo

San Pietro in Vincoli. Two popes were elected in this church. Pope John II(533) and Pope Grefory VII(1073)

The Moses by Michelangelo a masterpiece of High Renaissance sculpture.
It is actually the tomb of Pope Julius II

another interesting things about this church is the relic of the chains that bound Saint Peter when he was imprisoned in Jerusalem.

Santa Maria Maggiore, it is one of four major churches in Rome

beautiful ^^

Piazza della Repubblica

it's just opposite Santa Maria degli Angeli. It's nice to dip your tired leg in the fountain pool....hehe not sure it's illegal or not la :P

it is nicer in the evening with all the lights on......siok

last but not least Fontana di Trevi, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city

super crowded everynite

there is a legend saying that if your throw a coin into the fountain, you are ensure to return Rome. Hope that my wish come true ^^

another legend is Three Coins in the Fountain were thrown, it interpretation is taht 2 coins will leands to a new romance and 3rd coin will ensure a marriage or divorce :S. How to throw the coins? throw 3 coins with your right hand over your left shoulder in the Trevi Fountain.

another site you should come in the evening because it's won't be so warm and you can hang around longer...hehe

well this is the end of 5 days trip and i got to say I LOVE ROMA... :)

~ciao~

may my wish come true(ti kong po pi)
